Artists > Ill Proceeja
Biography: Ill Proceeja is a hiphop emcee from Middelburg, The Netherlands. Inspired by artists and groups like NWA, Boogie Down Productions and Big Daddy Kane he started writing his own lyrics in 1992. What started as a hobby, eventually became more serious at the age of 13 when he picked up the microphone for the very first time at a local rap concert. This didn't go unnoticed by some older fellow rappers, who were immediately impressed by the rhyme skills of the young rapper. As a result of this, Rhymeo Ill, a fellow local hiphop artist who already made a name for himself at the time, took the young Ill Proceeja under his wing and started making beats for him. Around the same time, Ill Proceeja competed for the first time in a national Rap contest, and even made it to the finals. In 1995 Ill Proceeja founded 'Ill Productionz', a hiphop crew consisting of Mr. Morbid, Dj Optimus and other local emcees and deejays. The crew disbanded in 2004, but DJ Optimus and Ill Proceeja would continue Ill Productionz as a duo. They performed at many venues across The Netherlands, opening up for various international acts such as Public Enemy and Black Sheep. Ill Productionz released their last album in 2010, titled 'Basics'. Ill Proceeja can be described as a technical MC with a passion for (Oldskool) Hip Hop and Reggae music. |
